02Common issues
Check that the app is allowed to access your location.
On iPhone you'll find the setting here:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → I'm OK
On Android usually here:
Settings → Apps → I'm OK → Permissions → Location
The app uses location only after you press the “I'm OK” button. Location is never tracked in the background.
Check that you have an SMS app set up on your phone.
I'm OK does not send the message automatically. It only opens the native SMS app with pre-filled text. Sending must always be confirmed by the user.
Check that the app is allowed to access your contacts.
Contacts are used only during setup, to choose the recipients of the message. Contacts are not sent anywhere.
Open the app settings and choose again the people the message should be prepared for.
You can remove stored data in the app settings, if that option is available, or by uninstalling the app from your phone.
03Important notice
I'm OK is not an emergency service
I'm OK is not an emergency service, a security monitoring service, a tracking app, or a substitute for calling 112 or your local emergency number.
The app only helps you prepare a message for your chosen close contacts. Delivery of the SMS depends on the mobile carrier, signal, phone settings, and the user confirming the send.
