Privacy Policy for the RTLE app
This policy describes how the RTLE app handles data on your device. The app is designed to be as simple and as privacy-friendly as possible — offline-first, no account, and nothing sent to the operator.

01In short
RTLE is designed to be as simple and as privacy-friendly as possible. In particular, the app:
- requires no registration
- has no user account
- uses no server or cloud sync
- shows no ads
- uses no analytics
- uses no tracking
- requires no online callbook lookups
- sends no data to the operator
All activations, QSOs and settings are stored locally on your device only.
02How the app works
You create one or more activations and log contacts (QSOs) directly on your device. Everything runs fully offline — no connection is needed at any point.
When you want to submit your log, you export a standard ADIF (.adi) file and share or upload it yourself using your phone's normal share options. The export is always initiated by you; the app never uploads your log automatically.
03What data the app uses
Log data
Callsigns, signal reports, references, worked references, operator names, band/mode/frequency, Maidenhead grids, power and UTC timestamps you enter. This is your logbook and it stays on your device.
App settings
Default callsign, operator, power, theme (Light / Dark / System) and display toggles are stored locally on the device.
Optional station-name lookup
If you turn it on, the app can load a callsign → name file (stations.csv) from a URL you configure, so known operators' names appear automatically. This feature is off by default and used only for local matching.
04What the app does not collect
In particular, the app does not collect or send the operator:
- your location,
- your contacts,
- the content of your log,
- usage analytics,
- advertising identifiers,
- device identifiers used for tracking,
- diagnostic data,
- crash reports.
05Network use & station names
RTLE works entirely offline. The only optional network connection is when you enable station names and the app downloads the stations.csv file from the URL you set. That request goes to the address you choose — not to the app operator — and is used only to build a local name lookup. Leave the feature off and the app makes no network connections at all.
06Data sharing
The app does not share any data with the app operator or with third parties. The only exception is when you yourself export an ADIF file and choose to share or upload it — in which case that file leaves your device through the share options you select.
07Deleting data
Data stored by the app can be removed by deleting individual activations inside the app, or by uninstalling the app from your device. Because RTLE uses no server and no accounts, the operator holds no user data that could be deleted from a server on request.
08Security
The app stores its data locally on the device only and does not transfer it to the operator's server. Because your log lives on the device, we recommend exporting an ADIF backup regularly — uninstalling the app removes its data.
