Support for the RTLE app

RTLE is a fast, offline logbook for SOTA, GMA, WWFF and POTA activations. You log contacts one line at a time, tap Return, and export a standard ADIF file when you're done. If something isn't working, the fixes below cover the most common cases.

01Support contact

If you have a problem with the app, please write to us. We usually reply within a few business days.

Support e-mail petr@calmbit.cz

Please include in your message

  • which phone you use,
  • whether it's an iPhone or Android,
  • what exactly happened,
  • whether the problem repeats,
  • and a screenshot if possible.

02Common issues

The export (ADIF) button is blocked

Export is disabled until the required fields are filled — your callsign and the operator callsign. Open the activation (swipe right to Edit) or set them in Settings → Default QSO values, then export again. This prevents invalid ADIF files.

Dots aren't turning into slashes or dashes

Dot substitution depends on the field. In a callsign, each dot becomes a slash (ok2cqr.p → OK2CQR/P). In a reference, one dot becomes a dash (ok.1212 → OK-1212) and two dots give a slash then a dash (ol.st.103 → OL/ST-103). Make sure you're typing in the right part of the line.

The band is wrong for my frequency

Type the frequency (for example 7.032) and RTLE detects the band automatically. You can also set the band manually from the picker (160M–70CM). Each band + mode has a sensible default frequency, so you rarely type it by hand.

Operator names aren't showing

Station names are optional and off by default. In Settings, turn on Show station names and set a valid Download URL to a stations.csv file. A one-time connection is needed to download it; after that the lookup works offline.

The QSO time looks off

RTLE stamps every QSO in UTC, not local time — this is standard for ADIF and activation uploads. Check that your device clock is correct; you can also edit the date and time on any logged contact.

I want to change defaults or delete data

Change your default callsign, operator and power in Settings → Default QSO values; changes apply only to new activations. To remove data, delete an activation by swiping it left, or uninstall the app to clear everything.

03Important notice

Back up by exporting regularly

Because RTLE keeps everything on your device and uses no cloud, your logs exist only on the phone until you export them. Export an ADIF file after each activation — uninstalling the app or resetting the device removes the log permanently.
